America’s Internal Economic Refugees Turn to Agriculture to Survive

Pot is a new cottage industry across the United States.

I know this because a significant amount of search terms that land on this blog are for things like “how to grow pot” and a lot of them are clearly newbies “sexing cannabis” .  Most medium sized U.S. cities have at least one “hydroponic” garden store and many have several.  Most of the customers of these stores are not growing hydroponic tomatoes, though of course it is possible to do so.  It is clear to me that ordinary people of ordinary intelligence who have no prospect of employment but never the less are still expected to pay for items like food, electricity, water, rent , transportation and doctor’s bills or even their mortgage, have made the rational decision to grow some marijuana.  Though some of them will fail, enough of them will succeed to form a new consensus across society that the use of cannabis sativa (and its cultivars) is socially acceptable and economically beneficial to small farmers.

I am sure that there are plenty of honest people in law enforcement right now who have sons or daughters or moms or pops or neices……the list goes on who they know to  be growing pot, it is a matter of survival, of paying the mortgage on an upside down home.  There has to be some humanity shown somewhere.

Adding to the above is the weight of the Baby Boomer generation, where word is rapidly spreading among people like me who have found the relief that this wonderful herb can give us.

Change is in the air, you can smell it.

The War on Hemp is Un-Constitutional

Your Constitutional Right to Cannabis

You and I have a Constitutional Right to grow, to possess, and to consume cannabis sativa and its variants. 

Really you do.  I want all of you lawn order Democrats to read this.   I want all of you Tea Partiers to smoke this.  I want all of you cryptofascists to read this.  I want all of you Christians to read this.

I have pointed out to people in debates for years that it says right in the Constitution that you have a right to grow, possess, and yes! smoke cannabis sativa if you so choose.  These people (some of them are well meaning but just ignorant) challenge me to point out the words in the Constitution that guarantee me the right to use cannabis sativa.

I tell them it is right there, right next to the words that guarantee them the right to manufacture, possess and consume alcohol.  It’s right there, can’t you see it?  Of course you can.

Because when the Constitution was ratified and the Bill of Rights was ratified the cultivation and processing and yes! the smoking of india hemp (cannabis sativa and its cultivars) was perfectly legal in the newborn United States of America.  As a matter of fact, so was the production and use of alcohol.   That is why a century later that miserable exercise in prohibition against alcohol required a Constitutional Amendment to outlaw alcohol.

It is time for the government to give up the war on hemp and move on.  The War on Hemp is Un-Constitutional

It is over.

We the People have the Constitutional Right to use cannabis in any one of its four uses: spiritual, medicinal, recreational and nutritional-industrial.

That’s the good news for us medical marijuana patients.  The Hummingbird Healing Center is close to St. Joseph’s Hospital and near the bus.

Thanks to the stupidity of the Eureka City Council and City Manager this dispensary will provide NO TAX REVENUE to our cash strapped city because it is located OUTSIDE the city limits.

Way to go.  Now maybe these idiots will come to their senses and allow reasonable medical marijuana in the city that is the capitol of the Emerald Triangle.  One can only hope for intelligence in government.  Of course I mean institutional stupidity.  Councilmember Linda Atkins brought this forth courageously a few months ago and I hope she revisits it now that the dank is out of the bag.

Dana Point wants pot dispensaries’ member names, records

The city says it’s seeking documents from five operations in town to figure out if they are legal. The dispensaries refused, in part, on privacy and constitutional grounds.

An Orange County Superior Court judge is expected to rule on Friday whether to enforce Dana Point’s subpoenas for five medical marijuana dispensaries’ records as part of a city investigation.
