Oregon Rocket

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on May 17, 2010 by highboldtage

Location: outdoor; Type: indica/sativa; Flowering: unknown; No feminized seeds.
Known Phenotypes: » new » none up to now (homogenous??)

Harvest-time: end sept/begin okt
Harvest: 200-500 gram
Effect: stoned

A thirty year old selection of Oregon Indica (Afghani type) crossed with the well known Victory strain which served as male parent in this cross. The mother is of Swiss heritage and carries traits of Alpine Rocket and Purpurea Ticinensis. Excellent stock for selecting mother plants for your specific outdoor and indoor conditions.

Care should be taken when planting in full soil since she will grow very large and wide, several bamboo poles or netting will be needed to keep her upright during the season. Maybe it is needless to mention but large trees do catch lots of wind so please consider planting her later in season to cut her vegetative cycle, and thus size. In climatically ‘average’ years this line will do especially well at latitudes of Southern Holland and Belgium although good results have been accomplished in Northern Holland by more experienced growers.

Her potency is great which shows in silver coloured buds which are covered in a blanket of trichomes, her fragrance is not unlike that of coniferous shrubbery, but sweeter. Smoked pure in a pipe she gives a full flavour spicy taste and an in general stony effect. For us more a late afternoon type of smoke, then a morning reefer.

Purple Haze #1 – Positronics

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 9, 2010 by highboldtage

Efecto muy psicoactivo y duradero.
Contágiate del espíritu hippie.
THC: 22% CBD: 0,2%

Sex : Feminized Type : Mostly sativa
Flowering : Photoperiod Genetics : Purple Thai x Haze
Flowering Time : Medium Outdoor Harvest : October
Height : Tall THC Level : High
Characteristics : Purple Thai x Haze

Positronics Seeds Purple Haze #1 was produced from Mexican, South Indian and Thai variety.  Until the 70’s, this plant has an incredible resin development and  produced a clear and energetic high.
This typically outdoor Sativa is a very, very dark purple, almost black, with medium green leaves, brownish-red hairs, and lightly coated with crystals. When breaking it up, the buds look like pieces of hash, they are THAT dark! The stems taste like peppermint and buds smell like chlorophyll, very planty (like fresh cut grass). When smoked the bud tastes like a high grade outdoor Thai. Purple Haze #1 is good for passing around a campfire! The high creeps on you, is spacey and a bit uplifting.  Much bettter out of a bong than a joint or a pipe.
Great hybrid vigour, put in blooming as soon as possible.

Chamomile, the Cannabis Companion Plant?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on April 10, 2010 by highboldtage

I was perusing a grow guide for noobs, and I came across the suggestion that chamomile be grown as a companion plant for cannabis because chamomile increases the production of “oils and resins” of the herb plants it grows near to.

http://www.rollitup.org/organics/194816-chamomile-marijuana.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companion_plants

This is just as interesting as the Banana Religion.  Has anyone tried this?

“Many people love chamomiile tea, i do and so do cannabis plants. Chamomile has long been known to boost the essential oil production of many plants such as basil and lavender (i met a man in a bar who said he worked on a commercial lavender farm in california and he told me this). Growing chamomile along with your herbals can deter some species of bugs. Misting your babies with a chamomile tea (cooled of course) is quite beneficial.”

“I found out that chamomile is also called “the plant doctor” because it is thought to help other plants, making them healthier and grow faster. The interesting point was however this, and I quote:

“Chamomile is sometimes known as “the plant doctor”, because it is thought to help the growth and health of many other plants, especially ones that produce essential oils. It is thought to increase production of those oils, making certain herbs, like mints (spearmint, sage, oregano) and basil taste stronger in scent and flavor.””

It’s also been called “California Raisins,” though as Jake notes, “That name is falling out of favor in the ongoing weed war between Colorado and California.”
