    lolzzz

OaklandBill, you guys just keep losing and losing, while your supposedly “peaceful” friend threatens local government workers with attack by AR15.

    Nice.

  2. I am not sure what you are talking about but I don’t own any guns and I don’t go around threatening people. I am a small “d” democrat precisely because democracy is a non violent alternative to social conflict – if it works. Threats cannot be a part of that democratic paradigm.

    have a peaceful day,
    Bill

read letters to the editor, OaklandBill and your good friend and fellow fairwager see your good friend Mr. Carr advocate gun violence against those local officials he has the “huevos” to disagree with.

  4. I have no control over Mr. Carr’s thoughts, words or actions.

I wish that we had good human solutions for our fellow human beings who are not doing too well other than sleeping under a bush. Has Mr. Carr ever had a social worker to assist him on his life’s path here in Humboldt County? I am just asking. Let’s start there.

I am not a trained psychologist but I have had enough goddamned therapy of my own to know that Mr. Carr’s expressions are what the shrinks call simply “a cry for help” and it should not be confused with threats of violence. Let’s listen for once.

I specifically do not suggest that Mr. Carr needs medication. He does not. He needs the regular contact of a professional social worker, once or twice a week. Someone who is acceptable to him. IT NEEDS TO START THERE.

    have a peaceful day,
    Bill

    So, OaklandBill…

You admit that Mr. Carr has mental problems. That’s great. Acknowledgement is one of the first steps on the road to recovery.

However, there are plenty of social services available through the county. Has he went to the county and tried to obtain services? I doubt it.

Mr. Carr’s threats in the newspaper are scary. If I was a local govt employee, I’d be filing a restraining order to keep him away from the county courthouse and eureka city hall.

  6. i am not a trained therapist and you probably aren’t either so it is not fair to try to diagnose anyone on the internet. I would not characterize Mr. Carr as “mentally ill” he can form thoughts and express them, he is above average intelligence and I have never heard him threaten anyone.

Mr Carr has a social problem. He irritates people incessantly but that’s neither a crime nor a mental illness.

He has told me he would like a job. I know that might seem like a challenge but its also another starting point.

    have a peaceful day,
    Bill

    what threat Mr./Mrs anon?

i have mead no threats i merely stated my opinion on the Second amendment, i reserve all my rights including my right to defend my self. i shall rephrase; it is a human right for the people to be able to adequately defend ones self. it is a human right for the “people” to control their government. the second amendment was put in places for this vary instants, it is their so the people may be able to protect them selves from enemy governments both foreign and domestic. our current government has declared America a “war-zone”* and with it its people an enemy**.

i have the “huevos” to say what the second amendment is stating of our right to revolt against the established government.*** i am not scared of the government, their terrorism has failed on me, so i will continue to speak out against them.

I in no way, shape or form advocate “shooting” those who disagree; but only those who prevent us from disagreeing. I in no way make a statement as to trivialize anothers opinion or threaten those who have such an opinion.

you my have constructed a Straw Man.

…and bill, I’m not crazy,..well no more crazy then any other Irish republican man

*S.1867, or the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the fiscal year of 2012,

    **HR 514 Patriot act

***”Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?” –Patrick Henry

“The people will not understand the importance of the Second Amendment until it is too late.” Thomas Jefferson

“It is not certain that with this aid alone [possession of arms], they would not be able to shake off their yokes. But were the people to posses the additional advantages of local governments chosen by themselves, who could collect the national will, and direct the national force; and of officers appointed out of the militia, by these governments and attached both to them and to the militia, it may be affirmed with the greatest assurance, that the throne of every tyranny in Europe would be speedily overturned, in spite of the legions which surround it.” –James Madison

    Sure Dane,

No threats implied or otherwise when you state that an AR15 is a weapon designed to defend yourself against enemies of the people, including local governments. Sure.

In other news, the topic of this thread, the judge DISMISSED Kim Verbana Starr’s suit:

A judge has sided with the city of Eureka and four members of its police force in a civil lawsuit brought forward by activist Kim Starr, who claimed her civil rights were violated when she was arrested while attending Occupy Eureka protests on three separate occasions in Nov. 2011.

In addition to Eureka Police Chief Murl Harpham, the suit named EPD sergeants Patrick O’Neil and Mike Guy, as well as Officer Terry Liles.

In the ruling issued Tuesday, a visiting judge out of Sacramento stated that the city and its officers acted professionally “despite the fact that there was ‘clear and immediate danger’ due to the protest and attempts by Occupiers to deliberately elicit a reaction from Officers,” according to a city of Eureka press release.

Starr is just one in a group of people associated with the Occupy Eureka movement who have filed claims for damages against the city, its police department and various county offices stemming from several incidents in November 2011, December 2012 and January 2013, in which police arrested Occupy protesters in front of the Humboldt County Courthouse.

According to the city’s release, a commissioner earlier ruled in favor of the city and the EPD officers in a similar lawsuit brought forward by James Decker who was detained at an Occupy Eureka protest on Nov. 30, 2011

    Lets say this AGAIN:

In the ruling issued Tuesday, a visiting judge out of Sacramento stated that the city and its officers acted professionally “despite the fact that there was ‘clear and immediate danger’ due to the protest and attempts by Occupiers to deliberately elicit a reaction from Officers,” according to a city of Eureka press release.

    OUCH

And you are a crazed whackaloon, Dane.

And Bill, why are you not reporting that in addition to James Decker’s annihilation in court, that your good tax payer resource wasting partner in crime Verbana too lost her frivolous suit?
