PARC – Humboldt County

PARC [Peoples’ Action for Rights and Community] has been buzzing with people, organizing, phones ringing, food cooking, and literature production!

Protests against the road widening through Richardson Grove has been a major epicenter of organizing, while PARC continues to be available for anyone to rest, eat, read, use the phone, receive mail, use a computer, and receive support and respite after experiencing all-too-common harassment by cops.

We need blankets.

We also need MONEY for the phone bill (as of yesterday), communal laundry, and rent for next month.

Please do what you can.  If you would like to visit PARC or talk more about what happens here, feel free to come by or call!

The history of progress is written in the blood of men and women who have dared to espouse an unpopular cause, as, for instance, the black man’s right to his body, or woman’s right to her soul.
– – Emma Goldman

“The worst forms of tyranny, or certainly the most successful ones, are not those we rail against but those that so insinuate themselves into the imagery of our consciousness, and the fabric of our lives, as not to be perceived as tyranny.”
–Michael Parenti (1933- )

In the words of Ed Abby, “sentiment without action is the ruin of the soul.”

  1. Michael Neeley Says:

Verbana was at every day of my trial when EPD officers Wayne Rabang and Detective Mark Bishop tried to lie to jurors about beating me October 16th 2010, for five minutes. They wrongfully called me homeless and falsely arrested me. Every Day she showed up to support me. Every Day. For 15 days. That’s Three weeks of trial, with cops telling lies trying to throw me – a fireman in PRISON for NOTHING – just cause I was called a prejudice security guard that had assaulted me!! Verbana was at my trial Every Day. Every Day. F lying cops
