via AP
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities in Southern California are investigating what appears to be the spontaneous combustion of rocks scooped from a San Clemente Beach that left a woman with third-degree burns.
via 10news (local):
“The 43-year old woman’s children picked up the seven orange and green rocks on Saturday at San Onofre State Beach, which is popular with surfers and known locally as Trestles.
The woman, whose name was not released, was hospitalized at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana with third-degree burns to her right thigh and knee, Stone said. He added that the victim “stopped, dropped and rolled” in an effort to douse the flames, and her husband suffered second-degree burns to his hands as he tried to help.”

That is creepy. I wonder what would cause that. Maybe something to do with Fukushima and the debris from the tidal wave…?

Hello Kym
The beach is the Trestles, a favorite with the surfers, it is at San Onofre. Real close to the nuclear power plant, Camp Pendleton Marine Base and US Navy artillery range at San Clemente Island.
have a peaceful day,
Bill
