Yes, legalize it. Rather take Gods creation over any man made unknown side effect causing meds. It real does help with Bi Polar. Ive tried everything for my disorder except the addictive stuff. All about the mighty dollar here in the USA. Why would they legalize it? they make too much money off it ruining good peoples lives for having it. Its not about the people anymore it’s all about the dollar.

  2. joshua Says:

I am living in pain and have been for over 10 years. I take morphine and in the pasted have used marujiana and it helped me so much but with the pee tests I have to go through to get my morphine! I can’t use marjuiana any longer! This is unfair to me as I have to life with the pain. I have thought many times about killing my self as dealing with the pain is insane! But the way it seems they (goverment) would have me kill myself then to let me use this needed drug! I am on over 150mg’s aday of morphine and take soma 4 times aday and Gabapentin 4 times aday and oxazepam 4 times aday and then to sleep serquel and temazepam. I know for a fact i could come off much of it as i have to take so many diffrent drugs to do the work of one. and the side effects are so much worse with all these then a joint ever would be! Please for Gods sake and mine let be live in some kind of peace legalize it it is far passed time!!

I have been molested as a child and sexual abused as a child, and have suffered deeply for it. Im now 23 yrs. old and still dont know where I’m going w my life. I now live in Charlotte w my other family and am concerned. I have severe chronic pain, muscle spasms, and nausea. I need my medical marijuana IN THE STATE OF NC, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

  5. YES ALREADY!

Us amer’ns put putting in for this country lonnngggg enough.

I think it’s time that the gov’t puts in!

Legal the drug, and get the dope off the streets so our kids wont get it. In 10 yrs. we all will have agreed we made a good change.

  6. Yes. I admit that I have been a recreational smoker since I was 16 (save a few years because of the job I had drug tested) but I don’t drink alcohol, smoke tobacco or do any other illegal drug. I have cases of glucoma on both sides of my family and all my pressure tests when I was growing up showed to be very high leaving me at a high risk for severe glucoma but doctors were unprepared to put me on the eye drops because of such bad side effects before I showed loss of vision.

No eye doctor has ever even mentioned my pressure tests since I started smoking. I am not certain that this is related but I am no harm to anything or anyone and would love the ability to go and see if a doctor considers this to be worth allowing me access to marijuana.

  7. Hi,

I am a 43 yr young male;)from NC I think prohibition was a huge mistake. I have heard and read that if they keep cutting our trees down, were not gonna have any. We need them for Oxygen.

It takes a long time for a tree to grow, but less than a yr for Marijuana and Marijuana puts off a lot of Oxygen.

It makes almost everything that can be made from a tree and I think its even higher quality as far as shirts.

In the website where Americans told Mr O Bama the things that they were most concerned about and Marijuana was mentioned more than most things.

We could bring Marijuana to NC and crop it just like when Tobacco was everywhere you looked in NC

I have Fibromyalgia and Major Depression that nothing helps except for Marijuana. Its not about the high because you would get used to it.

Our Economy could come to life and personally I dont think it should be left up to a Dr to decide who can get it and who cant, and everything will be based on the Drs oppinion of Marijuana other than the patient needing help.

  8. william Says:

I agree with ken, it shouldnt have to be made by a dr. recommendation, for medical or not, we should be able to put whatever we want into our body, and if marijuana has benefits from smoking, or eating, than more the better.

Dont use the word LEGALIZE IT, bc once you do that, than the youngins will abuse it, no doubt,

Say Regulate it. It will be regulated aka legalized.

  9. I am certain if you are a thinking person, then how can you possibly have any confidence or support for the existing medical laws in North Carolina.
Studies show that 60 percent of those persons who have lost their homes to bank repo’s due to the owner’s inability to pay their mortgage is due to previous unpaid medical bills which are owed to local hospitals or other medical providers. The fact is at this time so many persons are at a total loss when it come to their ability to pay for previously incurred medical expenses. The credit of those who are unable to pay is crushed by the provider whose services remain unpaid.

How is this related to passing the medical cannabis bill in North Carolina?
If this bill is passed those persons who cannot possibly pay for convential medications would in fact be able to legally grow their very own medicine. How civilized this would be. We here in North Carolina would as free as thos persons in the rest of the world.

  10. Anonymous Says:

Could be the start of RJ growing medicine for the cancer they caused.

  11. Police officer Says:

    yes. alcohol is much worse.

  12. I think the reason marijuana is not legal is that if it was the pharmaceutical companies would have no way to put a patent on a plant that has been growing on the earth for so long and cultivated, and no one company could own it and the monopoly it would provide.

  13. YES!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE

I have been a long time supporter and activist of the NORML cause. I am now 28 years old and have been smoking pot since I was nine years old. Obviously back then I had no valid medical reason but now its a whole different story. I smoke because it helps me calm down my ocd ticks, stress, and chronic pain. I played football all the way from 6th grade until my senior year in high school, when my pro dreams were crushed when I was hit low and ripped my acl in one knee and both my acl and mcl in the other knee. I have since been diagnosed with hereditary degenerative arthritis, mainly in my spine. If I don’t smoke I don’t sleep. It allows me to sleep at nite. Not to mention like “Police officer” said alcohol is much worse.

  14. My wife and I both survived the horrible cancer treatments we had to go through because of marijuana.
To this day it continues to improve our quality of life and well being.
The truly sad thing is we have to resort to obtaining it from drug dealers, please legalize medical marijuana so we can eliminate that aspect of an otherwise happy and comfortable life.

  15. I think a better question would be is there any reason it’s illegal in the first place?

Marijuana is a very effective medicine. Enough said.

  16. I’m for regulate. keep it away from the children but let the disabled have it.

  17. Last year I got diagnosed with Stage 4 HIV and meningitis…so I have seen my share of pain this past year. I’m sick to death of pills, and hope this will help.

  18. Absolutely.

Do it for those that need it, do it for those whos voice may not be heard, those that are in much pain; the people that have to take dozens of pills every single day. Do it for the future safety of our children, do it for economical help, do it for the simple reason of improving emotional and everyday well being within the communities.

Im not going to lie, I am not in pain. I have no license to purchase marijuana, I am not even of age to vote. But I do know this, there are many people within our state that are sitting at home taking upwards of 20 pills a day, and still feeling pain from whatever disease they may be suffering from. This needs to end. I have FIRSTHAND witnessed the positive effects of marijuana on people suffering from degenerative diseases. I will be the first to testify that marijuana is a MUCH better alternative to pills.

Only we can make the change, only we can stop the pain.

  19. When i had cancer of the throat in 2005 if it haddened been for pot i would probably died cause i couldn’t eat but when i was lucky enough to get some pot i would gain weight cause all i wanted to do was eat,and the pain was unbearable untill i could smoke some weed and the the pain was much!much! Easier to deal with, the depression was horrible untill i could get high. And it just don’t make any sense to have alcohol legel and it kills every year, wat does it take? for you to wise up!!

  20. darryl southard Says:

ok look every pot head is gonna be like woo hell yeah lets legalize…im one of those who is gonna say yes but…for medical purposes only…ive smoked pot for years ok marijuanna whatever u wanna call it ..i have anger issues bad stress headaches alot of mental probs pretty much when i smoke marijuanna i feel very calm nothing bothers me no head aches ..my anger is alot more controlable when i smoke its also the best over all and the safest of all pain meds ive taken over the years..so yes legalize ok why not put a tax on it gov its cool we need to stop getting aressted for something that is naturall and that would help in so many ways..in with people that have pain and would also help with the economy…it should have already been…if i need to sign something to help leeme know..ill be glad to help anyway i can

  21. Caleb Groulx Says:

Yes. marijuana should be legalized. I my self have sezures, and i hate having to take the meds. My doc. has had to change them time and time again, and he also says that over time i will have bone loss so I have to take vt D. pills. Not to mention all the headachs I get. This is just where I stand.

  22. yes they should cause ciggs are legal and they kill people and weed doesnt kill people u might think they are dead but they arent dead but when they wake up they will be a hungry mofo

  23. The Fuckin Teaza Says:

Im gonna smoke weed whether its legal or not, I could care less about laws that I think are stupid. And dont threaten with you will do time, i’ve done time, its a nice break from the working world.

Make the damn weed legal and quit hounding us with rediculous laws. No-one gives a shit about laws anyways.

  24. YES. I personally do not smoke marijuana, however, I know several people who do for health reasons. Here are a few reasons they do use the substance for health: nausea, vomiting, increase appetite, relaxation, sleep, tension, not as many side affects as prescribed narcotics( tired feeling, liver damage, cheaper than multiple medications for pain, stress, sleep, depression, etc.) even to help with side affects from cancer treatments. Even though people frown up smokers of pot and call them names such as pot heads, good for nothing dopers, no one really knows the benefits that this naturally grown herb has for health unless they have used it for a beneficial reason. Sure I know there are stoners out there who use the drug for a high just as much as there are drinking people who use alcohol for the goal of getting drunk! But regardless of legal or not those people will continue to find marijuana and use for their own purpose.

Legalizing marijuana will be a beneficial method for those who use the substance for health reasons, save tax payers money with trivial possession charges/cases and make money for the state with the sale of a controlled substance like any thing else sold, medication, tobacco, alcohol, even the sundries we take for granted. So if your a health conscious person the best interest of NC would be legalizing the substance and monitor the sale and intake under d.e.a., and doctors supervision.

If anyone would pay attention to natural remedy’s and herbal uses they would notice that lots of medications are derived from herbs or herbs themselves are used to help and cure illness. Marijuana was used years ago as a medical plant and now the use is considered illegal, immoral and costing us money to try cases in an over loaded court system. In fact the legalization of this plant would not only be beneficial in the health care system but also the economy by providing jobs with a new product being introduced into the state perhaps there would be some type of employment available.

VOTE “YES” TO HOUSE BILL 1380 LEALIZATION OF MEDICAL MARIJAUNA-INTRODUCED BY EARL JONES (DEM-GUILFORD)

  25. YES I SAY IT SHOULD BE LEGAL AFTER READING THESE POST I WANT TO ADD A FEW THINGS. DRINKING WAS SO MUCH FUN TIL I TURNED 21 NOW IT’S NOT SO MUCH FUN. THE FUN LEFT WHEN I WASN’T BREAKING ANY RULES. BUT SO DID THE CHANCES OF GETTING DRUNK PASSING OUT SOMEWHERE AND GETTING SCREWED BY SOME SICKO WHILE PASSED OUT TOO. SO I GUESS I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES, NEVER REALLY HAVE HEARD OF ANYONE BEING RAPED ON POT! BUT PLENTY OF HORROR STORIES OF GIRLS PASSING OUT AND BEING USED FOR SEX WHEN DRINKING. GUESS THAT SHOWS ONE BENEFIT OF SMOKING POT OVER DRINKING BOOZE ALREADY EVEN IF NOT FOR A MEDICAL REASON.

SO JUST MAKE IT LEGAL OR REGULATED SOME HOW AND BE DONE WITH ALL THE CRAP THERE ARE FAR WORSE THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT IN THIS WORLD THAN POT!!!!
