Stocking up for economic catastrophe in the SoHum hills and elsewhere

By Kym Kemp

“I’m gonna be the last man snackin’,” M. R. Robinson grins as he indicates his storeroom. Sixtyish, short with clipped silver hair and a ramrod back, Robinson looks more like a military man than the artist and master carpenter he currently is. Last year, Robinson foresaw the recent economic downturn and, worried that events might spiral into a survivalist’s nightmare, he began buying food.

  1. The earthquakes have you worried? ;> I’m hoping that they are merely relieving pressure.

On top of the economic mess, they are ratcheting up a little fear around our neck of the woods.

  2. Tom Sebourn Says:

This trend has been going on for quite a while. It seems strange that only now is the press getting this. They are saying that the recent gun sales across the country are related to the Obama Presidency and they are not looking at this trend. I stocked up on ammo months ago while I was planning a water tank and green house for where I live. I also have stocked up on food. My planning had more to do with the economic collapse than the presidential race. In an earthquake prone region as this I would hope everyone is getting prepared.
