Eureka school district loses another elementary school

“This is heart wrenching.”
That comment by Eureka City Schools board member Lisa Pace summed up the feeling of the entire board, who voted unanimously to move forward on the closure of Lincoln Elementary School — effective next school year.The school will become the fourth one closed in Eureka in eight years; reducing the district’s original eight elementary schools down to just four: Washington, Alice Birney, Lafayette and Grant.
